I Think You'll Like This Song is all about the songs that we think you'll like. We only post up songs that we love so you'll never really see anything negative here. It's good music for good people whether it be new or old, major or indie. If we like it, we post it.

Have to thank my pals Seasfire for putting me onto fellow Bristol artist Joshua Vincent aka Chapter House.
“Getaway” starts off quiet and then launches into the first big moment of the track. Verses recall Mystery Jets, Bon Iver, U2, New Wave all in one go and then the chorus hits and I just had to sit back and say wow, that’s big.
Excited to hear more things? Check out the equally wonderful “Blood Sweat and Tears” and prepare yourself to hear more from Chapter House.
disCOVER: Daughter “Perth vs Ready For The Floor (Bon Iver/Hot Chip Cover)”
Daughter have been skirting my radar for the last six months or so and now they seem to be doing some big things. Last week they were iTunes free download of the week with the amazing “Human”. They recently dropped round BBC Radio 1 to record this amazing mash up of Bon Iver’s “Perth” versus Hot Chip’s “Ready For The Floor”. No lie it sounds amazing, a stumbling along piece of laid back indie genius that manages to fit both songs perfectly.
Some beautiful summery music from Norway that comes with a Bon Iver stamp of approval, so if that means anything to you then it means that it should be pretty good. And it is. It’s a lovely optimistic ray of sunlight, enjoy.
I think this is what falling in love feels like… definitely sounds like.

Do you ever click on the most played tab in iTunes and get a little surprise, like a curveball of “Wow, did not know how much I actually listened to that one song…over and over again, for like a month and now I don’t listen to it that much anymore…but wow I played the hell out of that one song”, well that happened to me this morning.
It’s all well and good me posting up music that I’m finding here and now but I bet you’re wondering what I actually listen to on a daily basis, oh you weren’t? Oh… well this is awkward now…I’m just going to do it anyway.

Remix Baby: Bon Iver “Towers (Jonathan Lee Remix)”
Bon Iver is releasing an official remix album soon and offering $1000 to some of the best entries. We’ve already heard from Work Drugs and their remix of “Beth/Rest” and here’s Jonathan Lee with his remix of “Towers” giving it an atmospheric and uplifting lift.
Yesterday I posted up Work Drugs remix of “Beth/Rest” as part of a competition to be part of an official Bon Iver remix album and now I have something for you from one of my favourite remixers LEANN GRIMES. Taking the hypnotising piano of “Wash.” LEANN GRIMES’ Shane Conerty enriches the track with a big drum beat, autotuned vocals and a soft low piano.
Work Drugs already flipped an Adele cover on its head so when they got in touch about remixing Bon Iver’s opinion splitting album closer, “Beth/Rest”, needless to say I was intrigued to say the least. With sped up vocals and an easy listening back beat this is an interesting reworking of an already pretty interesting track. Kudos boys, kudos.
Check out here for the remix to appear on an official Bon Iver remix album.
Next year, man, next year I’m going to Coachella. Split over two weekends for 2012, we’re nearly at the end of week one with only Sunday to go. Radiohead lit up the main stage last night as did M83 as did Childish Gambino.
Here’s Coachella vets Bon Iver doing the fantastic singalong epic “The Wolves” with a full band that simply sounds amazing.
