This is The Morning Benders second appearance on disCOVER. They first came up with a great cover of The Cardigans’ Lovefool and now their back with a cover of The Strokes. Turning it into a great electronic summer anthem, this is a good reworking of a classic.

LEANN GRIMES is Shane Conerty who, inspired by the songs he found on music blogs, made an album remixing his favourites ones. Over 14 tracks, LEANN GRIMES remixes The Head and the Heart, Local Natives, The Decemberists, CAKE, Deerhunter, The Morning Benders, Kings Of Convenience, Dr. Dog, The Strokes and The Tallest Man On Earth to name a few. We were first introduced to The Morning Benders when we came across their great cover of The Cardigans’ Lovefool. We listened a bit more and really liked what we heard so we thought we’d give them another post. From Berkeley CA., their 2008 debut Talking Through Tin Cans was well received by critics. They’re now back with their new album Big Echo and you can grab a free download of Promises on their website here.

We stumbled across this cover of The Cardigans’ Love Fool by Californian band The Morning Benders over at the blog Cover Me. It’s an awesome blog dedicated to posting up all these great covers so go and have a look. The Morning Benders take on this 1990s classic does not stem too far from the original but manages to give it a 60s Beach Boys esque sound, maybe its the California thing. Oh and expect us to post up about The Morning Benders in the near future.
