I Think You'll Like This Song is all about the songs that we think you'll like. We only post up songs that we love so you'll never really see anything negative here. It's good music for good people whether it be new or old, major or indie. If we like it, we post it.

And while it was a good month, sadly it also marks the split of Girls Aloud, which I’ve taken hard. So as a bonus track I’ve got you a lovely little megamix of their brand of pitch perfect pop. RIP.
Over the last few days I’ve seen the name BANKS mentioned and bandied around a fair few times. On one of the soundcloud comments it said it sounded like if you mixes Fiona Apple with Tricky and then with Trent Reznor. Suffice to say, my interest was piqued. And then immediately justified upon listening.
Its deep, dark, trip-hop, hip hop soul that might draw comparisons to Lana Del Rey at the beginning. Pretty faces, soulful voices and major attitude. There’s maybe more darkness to BANKS and less posing. All I know is it sounds good, check out the EP below.
Listen if you like MO, Lykke Li, Lissie, LDR, MSMR, Grimes and that kind of thing.
disCOVER: Shadows On Stars: “Little Bit (Lykke Li Cover)”
Mmmmm, this is very very nice.
Here’s Shadows On Stars post-r&b take on Lykke Li’s “Little Bit”. The vulnerability of the original is filtered through a more melancholy vibe in this outing by this Portland duo. Also check out the rest of their music because its pretty good, especially “When it Builds”.
I’ve been messing around with MØ’s debut track “Pilgrim” for a while, a low key funky r&b inspired piece with big horns and catchy choruses. On new track “Glass”, it’s more a straight up pop song from the Danish singer, kind of in between Lykke Li, Lana Del Rey and Grimes. The 23 year-old is one to watch for 2013 so keep your eyes peeled.
Remix Baby: Lykke Li “I Follow Rivers (The Magician Remix)”
Oh hello there lovely remix of Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers” by The Magician. It may have been around for a while but it still sounds lovely today, will do tomorrow and probably next week.
Remix Baby: Lykke Li “I Follow Rivers (Tyler the Creator)”
I’ll admit it, I’m a little late to the Lykke Li game but I just downloaded I Follow Rivers and I love it. Here’s a fun remix from Odd Future’s Tyler the Creator. It’s nothing new, but it’s something good.
I know, I know…I haven’t been around that much lately, lets blame the festive season and fuzzy heads. Hopefully I’m back now and in the next coming weeks I’ll be throwing in my best of 2011, what I’m looking forward to in 2012 and just good freaking music, as always.
Lets start this off right though with RAC’s 2011 remix. Every year Hype Machine put together their zeitgeist ish of the year (songs, albums, artists and what have you) and they also get some lovely people to mash up all these things together in a downloadable remix session. This year they’ve got Odd Future, The Go! Team, Jensen Sportag and RAC doing wondeful remixes. I’m staying loyal to one of my favourite remix artists out there RAC and throwing their amazing 2011 Music Blog Zeitgeist Mix up.
Starting off with Phantogram’s amazing Don’t Move it moves seamlessly through all the greats of the year with Theophilus London, M83, Toro Y Moi, Neon Indian, Justice, Lykke Li, Sunday Girl, The Rapture and Foster The People to name a few. Happy 2011…Bring on 2012.
