Remix Baby: Stardust “Music Sounds Better With You (Giraffage Remix)

(via Lyfstyl)

Stardust’s dance anthem “Music Sounds Better With You” is one of my go-to get up and dance tracks and I just adore the video. While this can’t touch the original, Giraffage makes a very good effort with this remix, brightening it up and adding something bouncy synth arpeggios. Perfect for summer.

Remix Baby: Marvin Gaye “What’s Going On (Cruelty Remix)”

Is this sacrilege? No, cause damn it works.

Remixer Cruelty serves up Marvin Gaye’s conscious peaceful call to arms into the perfect summer jam with an intro that is just out of this world good.

Remix Baby: MSMR “Hurricane (CHVRCHES Remix)”

(via Pigeons and Planes)

Wow, so CHVRCHES have come along and turned MSMR’s haunting “Hurricane” into a bonafide 80s pop jam. It’s bloody brilliant.

Remix Baby: Phoenix “Entertainment (Blood Orange Remix)”

Been meaning to post on this for a minute but here we are. Here is Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange remix of Phoenix’s “Entertainment” with former Sugababes Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan appearing on the vampy chorus. It’s full of mournful guitars, dazzling arpeggios and that unmistakable Blood Orange swag.

Remix Baby: Haim “Falling (Psychemagik Remix)”

Psychemagik has been on my remix radar for a while since I heard their remix of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” which was pretty darn good. Taking the delcious “Falling” guitar riffs and pigeon drums, Psychemagik build a dreamy disco esque beat around the Californian sisters big track.

Remix Baby: HAERTS “Wings (Wildcat! Wildcat! Remix)”

HAERTS’ “Wings” blew me away when I first heard it late last year and I am eagerly awaiting any new material I can get my hands on. So yeah, I’m pretty excited about this Wildcat! Wildcat! remix which chops up the original and adds some freshness to a track that could be at risk of being played to death, although luckily its just that good that it just hasn’t happened yet.

Remix Baby: Major Lazer “Get Free (What So Not Remix)”

Double whammy today of the Remix, Baby feature, I’m too good to you. And you’re gonna love me even more because this What So Not remix of Major Lazer’s “Get Free” is freaking awesome. At first its not so different, some changes to the percussion and then from nowhere an organ comes in and everything just gets amazing very quickly before jumping into a trap breakdown.

What So Not are two Sydney boys who have been remixing up a storm, check out their soundcloud for more. Their remix of A-Trak, Kimbra and Mark Foster’s “Warrior” is marvelous.

Remix Baby: Alt-J “Dissolve Me”

“Dissolve Me” is my favourite track off Alt-J’s An Awesome Wave, the way it changes from quite a happy little intro into something darker really does something to me. Ben Garrett aka Fryars has taken “Dissolve Me” and added some warm synths and an r&b beat and made something rather nice.
